Cottonwood Gnome Home 2

This is another Cottonwood bark peice thats a little bit shorter than the last one.   I learned to make holes in the rock walls and hollow out behind them so the wall looks really unstable.    I also burned the top of the chimney so it looks like its been used.

I gave this one to the famer who blows out our driveway, keeping the snow drifts at bay.  He's been so good at making sure we can get out and bringing our mail in for us.  This last storm it took him over 2 hours to blow our mile long driveway clean.    I think he deserves a carving.  :D

Cottonwood Gnome Home

Cottonwood is some nice wood to carve.  Over the last weekend I carved up two 'Gnome home'  or ' Fairy Village'  pieces of bark.

This one has a tiny booboo in it and I had to paint over that light spot to get it to blend in.  I gave this one to my hubby for Valentines day.

Its 22 inches long and four inches wide.

Shy date

I named this picture , "Shy date". She looks so shy with him standing so close. These two penguins are a result of Tom H.s pattern to carve a five minute Penguin. It took me alot longer than five mins, but the carving is still a short time to a result. I like that kind of carving.
Each penguin stands only two inches tall and one inch wide.
